Review of March 21-22, 2009
PURPOSE
This two-day conference focuses on translational aspects of addiction research among chemists, biologists, and behavioral scientists. Cross-fertilization of ideas among disciplines will cultivate new scientific initiatives, promote thinking outside the constraints of individual disciplines, facilitate new collaborations, and foster development of medications and research tools. Young scientists are strongly encouraged to present their work and interact with senior scientists. Click here for General Program

Click here for Registration Form. Please register early as the number of attendees is limited. Undergraduate, graduate, and post-doctoral students: FREE! Others: $175.00 (meals included). For non-scientific participants single tickets for the reception (3/21) and for the dinner (3/22) must be purchased in advance - $60.00 each. Tickets will be available for purchase at the registration desk during check-in.
Abstracts will be accepted for 15-min oral presentations or poster presentations. Click here for Abstract Submission Form. Completed abstract forms should be emailed to bbc@uthscsa.edu.
Abstract submission is required to apply for a travel stipend. Stipends are available for undergraduate and graduate students, post-doctoral fellows, and junior faculty (up to and including Assistant Professor, in rank not more than 6 years and not more than 8 years past receipt of degree). Stipends will cover registration costs. For applicants living outside
1) curriculum vitae
2) cover letter (not to exceed 1 page) indicating eligibility and interest in drug addiction research and how the meeting will advance the applicant's education/career in addition research
3) letter of support from a supervisor, mentor, or department chair providing evidence of financial need
