The Brain Bowl is a quiz show which tests the knowledge of undergraduate neuroscience students. Brain Bowl questions range from relatively easy to very difficult, covering fields of neuroscience research including (1) neurophysiology, (2) neuroanatomy, (3) neurochemistry, (4) drugs and the brain, and (5) the brain and behavior. In this year’s competition, teams from University of Texas at Dallas (UTD), Oberlin College (Ohio) and UT San Antonio will compete for the coveted Brain Bowl Trophy.
Modeled after the 1960’s quiz show ‘University Challenge’, the Brain Bowl includes three rounds of short answer questions that get more difficult with each round. The final round is a complex ‘challenge’ question, where teams can wager points they have accumulated in the previous rounds. Come join us for an evening of intense mental competition (and maybe a little friendly competitor fun and teasing) as the organizer and Master of Ceremonies, David Morilak, Ph.D. (pictured above), Professor in the Department of Pharmacology and Director of the Center for Biomedical Neuroscience (CBN), at UT Health San Antonio, along with a group of ‘sometimes raucous’ judges and audience members, as these teams go head-to-head to see which team is the best!

…LET THE GAMES BEGIN!!!
