Course Name: Therapeutics: Cardiovascular-Renal Pharmacology

Course Director: Drs. Kent Keeton and Steve Mifflin

Course Content:

This course will provide a background of the anatomy, physiology, and pharmacology of the kidneys, the heart, and blood vessels. Lectures will cover the actions of diuretics, antihypertensives, anti-lipemics, anti-anginals; pharmacological treatment of heart failure, dysrhythmias and anticoagulants.

Grading: The course will include one examination and one class discussion based on a journal article. Grading will be based on the exam (60%), class participation (35%), and attendance (5%). The course will be graded on a lettered scale.

Pre-requisites: INTD 5000 and consent of Instructor

Credit Hours: 0.5 credit

When offered: Fall Semester
