Congratulations Neuroscience Graduate Student Melodi Bowman on being GSBS Council for Excellence in Women’s Health scholarship recipient!!!
Neuroscience graduate student Melodi Bowman will be honored at the Women's Council Fall Luncheon, October 14th, 2016, for being selected as the Graduate School of Biomedical Sciences Council for Excellence in Women’s Health scholarship recipient for 2016.
The mission of the Council for Excellence in Women’s Health is to improve the physical and mental health of women in San Antonio and the scholarship provides support for students interested in women's health. Ctiteria include a minimum GPA of 3.0 and a one-page written essay. Students from all five schools: School of Medicine, School of Nursing, Graduate School, Dental School and School of Health Professions, at the Univeristy of Texas Health Science Center at San Antonio, can apply for the annual scholarship.
The event will be held at The Argyle, where Dr. W. Brian Reeves, Chair of the Department of Medicine, will present on the topic of Women’s Health Programs at the UT Department of Medicine. Melodi will be honored at the luncheon, where she will be introduced to the Women's Council members by one of the scholarship committee members and scholarship recipients will be asked to say a few words.
