2012 Brain Bowl - April 17, 2012 at 7PM

The Brain Bowl is a quiz show which tests the knowledge of undergraduate neuroscience students. Brain Bowl questions range from relatively easy to very difficult, covering fields of neuroscience research including (1) neurophysiology, (2) neuroanatomy, (3) neurochemistry, (4) drugs and the brain, and (5) the brain and behavior. In this year's competition, teams from Baylor University, Texas A&M University and Trinity University will compete for the coveted Brain Bowl Trophy.
Modeled after the 1960's quiz show 'University Challenge', the Brain Bowl includes three rounds of short answer questions that get more difficult with each round. The final round is a complex 'challenge' question, where teams can wager points they have accumulated in the previous rounds. Come join us for an evening of intense mental competition (and maybe a little friendly competitor fun and teasing) as the organizer and Master of Ceremonies, David Morilak, Ph.D. (pictured above right), Professor in the Department of Pharmacology, along with a group of 'sometimes raucous' judges and audience members, as these teams go head-to-head to see which team is the best!
Good luck to last year's champions, Baylor University, as they return to defend their title against Texas A&M and Trinity Universities...LET THE GAMES BEGIN!!!
