Congratulations Allison Doyle-Brackley, Ph.D.!!!

 

Allison Doyle-BrackleyOn March 30th, 2017, Neuroscience graduate student Allison Doyle-Brackley (pictured left) presented her dissertation defense titled: 'Awakening a DORmant Receptor' to a lecture hall audience, whose members included her defense committee. She then went through a review of her dissertation and a question and answer process with the defense committee, before she was notified that she had successfully defended her dissertation and would be receiving her Ph.D.!


Dr. FrazerThe Department of Pharmacology held a reception on April 20, 2017, in the Pharmacology Conference Room, to honor Dr. Doyle-Brackley's accomplishment and to present her with her graduation 'gift', a personalized, custom, office chair. Dr. Nathan JeskeDepartment of Pharmacology Professor and Chairman, Alan Frazer, Ph.D. (above), recognized Allison's accomplishments and contributions as a Neuroscience graduate student including being awarded a pre-doctoral fellowship on Craniofacial Oral-biology Student Training in Academic Research (CO-STAR) T32 grant, awarded F21 Ruth-Kirschstein NRSA Funding through NIDCR, receiving travel awards to present at National and International conferences, including: American Pain Society, ASPET, ASBMB and the NIH Annual Translation Pain Conference, received poster awards at: Center for Biomedical Neuroscience Retreat, Pharmacology Graduate Student Symposium and Behavior, Biology, and Chemistry: Translational Research in Addiction Conference as well as having several published manuscripts. Allison's mentor, Cellular and Integrative Physiology, Pharmacology and Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery cross-appointed Assistant Professor Nathan Jeske, Ph.D. (above, left), also commented on the great work Allison has done in the labs...running experiments, mentoring, training, problem solving and numerous other duties requested of her. In addition, the Graduate School Dean's Office presented Allison with another gift...a new leather briefcase!


Allison graciously thanked everyone for their support and will begin a postdoctoral fellowship in the laboratory of Cellular and Integrative Physiology Professor Glenn Toney, Ph.D..
