Congratulations Matt Rowan, Ph.D.!!!

On October 18th, 2011, graduate student Matt Rowan presented his dissertation titled: 'Estrogen Regulation of Bradykinin Signanling' to a lecture hall audience, whose members included his defense committee. He then went through a review of his dissertation and a question and answer process with the defense committee, before he was notified that he had successfully defended his dissertation and would be receiving his Ph.D.!

The Department of Pharmacology held a breakfast reception on October 30, 2011, in the Pharmacology Conference Room, to honor Dr. Rowan's accomplishment and to present him with his graduation 'gift', a personalized, custom office chair. Pictured below, left is Dr. Rowan and Dr. Clarke. Matt conducted his research in Dr. Clarke's lab and Dr. Clarke was his mentor. Pictured below, right is Dr. Rowan and the Pharmacology Chairman, Dr. Alan Frazer, as they read the placard on the back of the gift office chair.
