Research

Elizabeth will be studying neurobiological mechanisms underlying novel therapeutic approaches to treatment of stress-related psychiatric disorders. She will use rat models to study both behavioral (cognitive behavioral therapy, exposure therapy) and pharmacological (glutamate transmission, cytokine signaling) approaches, focusing on function of the prefrontal cortex and its behavioral consequences.
